Thank you for the generous access to your site and
beautiful church. My visit was part of some research
re: 4 churches in your area. It has been absorbing and
encourages us to return and to try to learn more

As my maiden name was Letton, I am curious about
the originallity of our name and whether it has anything
to do with this village

Thank you Derys for suggesting I look at your village

I'm looking for any relations to an Edmund Waring
who leased Old Letton Court in the 1700's, and his son
Thomas leased it after Edmund's death. Would love to
hear from you.

It is interesting to find a village with the same
name as my family name. I would love to know how the
village was named.

NB: Saxon words 'Ley/Lea' mean clearing and 'Ton/Tun'
mean House/Farm/Settlement so perhaps Letton means 'settlement/village
in the/a clearing'.

Your website was sent to me by Kathy
Cameron and I so loved seeing Letton. This site is surely
a labor of love and so well done. Next time we visit
the UK we will surely visit in person. I didn't notice
if you had B&Bs though. You can visit our country inn
at www.conyershouse.com

I was and am absolutely delighted to see the website
up and running. I learned more in the period it took
me to peruse the site than I learned in the years I
and the children were domiciled in Letton. Its part
of our history and thank you for bringing it to light.

Great looking through site. My mother
grew up in Letton during and after the 2ndWW. She lived
with her Grandparents (Buried in the church yard) who
lived in a farmhouse called the Vallots I believe. If
anyone has any info if the farm still exists I would
love to here from them.

An excellent web-site. I'd love to see more pictures
of the old school house. I believe it closed in the
1950's. If anyone has any pictures then please e-mail
me on andrew@andrewmorris.me.uk I'd love to show my
children what their house and the pupils looked like
when it was still a school.

Good to see Letton on the global village network.
Little difference when compared with the Domesday Book
except in presentation.
