Why the Quest?

This is going to be the most physically and mentally demanding thing I have ever done.

In 2006 I enjoyed Letton 2 London very much and we raised just over £5800 which was shared equally between The Prostate Cancer Charity and Letton Church. Because this event was so successful and I was being asked what my next challenge would be, I thought there should be something else, but this time a bit more adventurous, preferably something that had not been done before.

So, what about cycling to every Anglican cathedral in England, Wales and Scotland? That should be challenging and to my knowledge I don't think it's been done before. After a village meeting to discuss the idea, Cathedral Quest was born.

No going back now!

The money we hope to raise this time will be split equally between Letton Church and Macmillan Cancer Support.

St John The Baptist Church is the focus of our community. Its main function is, of course, as a place of worship as it has been for many hundreds of years. However, increasingly it is being opened up for a variety of community uses which enables more people to benefit from this wonderful building and its beautiful surroundings.

Macmillan Cancer Support does a fantastic job in supporting individuals and their families touched by cancer. We all hope that we never need their services but sadly many of us, at some time in our lives, will be diagnosed with some form of this terrible disease. It is reassuring therefore that this dedicated organisation is there with help and support.

From a personal point of view I want to do this to stretch myself in ways I haven't done before. There will be some very tough days when I will need to dig deep but also, I hope, some very good and rewarding days. I am looking forward to the challenge and hope, with all your support, I can succeed.
